The challenge
How do you coordinate a performance art afternoon filled with connection, reflection, spirituality, and socio-political practice? The performance Rosea: Thoughts & Prayers invited people to explore questions of migration, the meaning of home, and lingering connection at a remote location.

The gig
As the producer, all the logistical questions landed in my lap: How do we set this up? When does everyone need to be informed? How do we get everything we need? The performers needed clarity on roles, rehearsals, and equipment. On the day itself, guests had to be informed, feel welcomed, and submerge themselves in the world that Travis Geertruida created for them.

Behind the scenes
I coordinated with the creator, performers, volunteers, and crew to bring the performance to life:

• Created schedules, action plans, and overall production planning.

• Gathered materials needed for the performers and planned and scheduled the set décor.

• Set a communication guide for guests and planned the evening with materials, scheduled arrival times, and coordinated the show to run as smoothly as possible.

The impact
Guests were submerged in a world that the artist created for them, supported by clear guides for the evening. The performance was both experimental and meaningful, bringing guests and performers closer to one another through a shared topic and experience.
